FINAL SKIRT ASSESSMENT ONE

1.) The finished product of my first semesters patternmaking 101, design 101 and production 101 work. My design was modified alot but overall I am happy with the end product (despite the fact that it failed to fit the studio mannquin. Ahhh, but the assessors ie my teachers, didn't seem to be too disappointed. It's my first piece anyhow, it gives me more to improve on which gives me more to gain from. Also, it will teach me the precious lesson, no dodgy fittings and crooked cuttings and God help me if i extend that seam allowance. That will cost me.)
2.) My indie-whore-face-bitch mood board collage. The theme given was "Rock Chic." Ha ha, i know.
3.) My Judas drawing. It didn't really influence my skirt design until I did my moodboard, which alas like most design students do, put together at the end. That cross really gave me Judas vibes, I liked that.

I think in terms of precision and attention to detail I have improved a great deal on this folio compared to the first Colour Theory one we did for design 101. I mounted all my designs and re-did my trade drawings over and over again. Everyone on facebook from other unis seem to have looked at their results online, I haven't heard of anyone from my course having done so. I don't mind waiting to find out, I've never really cared much for marks. I just hope I do well on this because I tried freaken hard for once.

SPEAKING OF COLOUR BLOCKING

IF I BLINK I MIGHT ACTUALLY ENJOY MYSELF

I haven't drawn anything other than design figures and trade drawings in a while. Not even birthday drawings, and I love me my birthday drawings. So I stayed up til 1 am drawing this baby.

Look at me progressing and experimenting with colour and line.

There was also the ridiculous ten minutes that I spent on deciding which scanner setting I thought suited the drawing more. For instance, the one I uploaded onto facebook was the setting with a brighter contrast. I like this softer scan too though.

IT'S NICE TO KNOW THAT FACEBOOK IS PAYING ATTENTION

ie. The 'Related to your post' part on the side. Today in the short retail course that I am doing for kicks (and employment) the topic of prostitution came up. I tried to explain to the person sitting next to me, a new friend actually she is so nice, that I would gladly drop everything and become a prostitution. I had to remind myself that just because I was back in a class room did not necessarily mean that I was back in year 12 in high school with all my friends. Then I had to explain awkwardly that I just meant because I would rather be selling my goods for money then doing things like exams and school work...

Colour vs Emotion
Pretty vs Sad

Can you detract from what is really there? Can making something beautiful make you forget how sad it once was?

TEA CUP ZAB + ZARA RLB

This is my indulging in my new soup cup which I have filled to the brim with an ENTIRE pot of tea. Awesome are what? Yes, I am really trying to get to the bottom of it in that second picture, it's amazing at how big it is. It seems like the perfect novelty item yet at the same time it is insanely practical. I just realized aswell as using it for soup and coffee I could very well use it for cereal. This is good for me since I am the type to eat cereal infront of the television on the sofa and then end up with my spilling the milk from the bowl over myself + sofa.

This baby was 3 dollars from Safeway. I urge everyone to buy one because the giant tea cups from T2 are very beautiful but very costly. This was 3 dollars man, go buy one, go buy your mum one, go stock up and give them out at Christmas. I was currently at a family party with my cousins and we decided to go buy ice cream at Safeway when I came across this baby. We all ended up buying each in the same counter, paying at the Liquor section too. We're a classy bunch.

I should really get some sleep so that tomorrow on the train I can actually do my retail coursework since I failed to do so tonight. Laaaaaame I know, but doing this retail course could get me a step closer to a job which means a step closer to owning some sweet cash and owning my Zara bag. Yes, I have replaced my Zara Fund Red Leather Jacket for this Red Leather Bag:

I cannot wait until this sexy thing is in my possession. I held it when I went to visit the new Bourke Street store (i'm not even going to bother posting about it despite my excitement because a thousand other bloggers, more talented with actual followers perhaps, have done so and done so well) and it just looked so right on me. I am usually looking for the bargains and would prefer to spend my money on more things than just one thing seeing as I don't work, but this is something that I would actually save up for and invest in. It was a close call between this and the brown, but the red is just too sexy.

FREE BITCH BABY

I have this horrible habit of taking photos of things, or collating things to post about and then not posting about them until one day when I decide to and then I forget half of things that I wanted to say and everything just feels more like an obligation post than a genuine post, but oh nobody cares about these silly things that I worry about. Don't worry, I do it with my diary a lot too. I don't know why, but I will full apologize in my diary for not writing in it and then try to recap some event that happened a month ago and it will just be complete dribble and will not mean anything to me because they passion and anguish that I felt at the moment seems transparent in my one-five month later diary entries. I don't even know why i care so much, it's not like i let anybody read my diary. Silly me.

But anway. I want to wear this baby tomorrow as opposed to my little black leather pouch necklace that I always wear. It looks so carefree doesn't it. Everybody look at me, I'm a free spirit, I don't care what anybody thinks. I also just painted my nails a bright yellow, the polish indicates that it is called 'honolulu'. Look at me, trying to put meaning into something that I wear.
