ONE CUP OF HELLO KITTY HEAVEN

I just found heaven! Oh gosh, if they had one of these here in Australia I would always have somewhere to go when I'm sad. This really would be like the equivalent of Disney World for me. Sad, i know but I am easily amused. omgomgomgomg i want to go here :(

But I did visit this super sweet and visually beautiful cafe called The Giraffe today. Me and Kelly went there for lunch and it looked like we had stepped into a magazine spread from Frankie. It was so cosy and full of little bits an pieces that made the cafe more like a home of a close, cool friend. I hope they have a website, i didn't take any photos.

TWENTY-WHAT

I am currently watching 'The Countdown' episode of the O.C season one. Y'know the nye to episode to get me all excited for nye which as of fifty-eight minutes ago has already begun. Sigh. But I don't feel excited or anything. Usually at the end of each year I feel al nostalgic and sad about leaving a year behind. Even if the year was shitty, I always felt like I had something to learn from it. If anything, this year (being the last year of highschool and of many many things) I have learnt so much but hardly any of it feels worth it. I don't know. So much has happened and gone down so fast this year that it feels like the only way to survive it was so suppress and just move on as quickly as possible with so many things. Now i guess it's just hard to go back to feelings things. I don't want 2010 to have just passed me by. I know there was is so much to remember but it feels like most of me would rather just forget. If i am this ready to just let go of the year that was meant to be 'the best year ever', how many more things will i be willing to just let pass me by? Maybe this is just me growing up

I guess some things were beautiful, but a lot of 2010 still hurt.

SISTERS OF THE PANTALONES

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 Movie Review Starring America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel | Film Critic Michael Phillips Reviews The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
Together, it was as if we formed
one single, complete person. Wild, unstoppable Bridget.
Shy and beautiful Lena. Tibby, the rebel. And me, Carmen, the writer.

I don't know what it is about this film, or perhaps it is because I've watched it every holiday since year nine, but I love love love this movie to death. Every character, all of their story lines, all of their little quirks and their friendship. I sound so lame, but omg i love this film. As far as heart warming girly chick flicks go, THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITES EVER. OF ALL TIME. Maybe because they remind me so much of BFG. We may not have exact parallels, seeing as there is five of us and four of them, but whenever I think of BFG i think of the scene where they are in the old abandoned yoga studio at night: sitting in a circle and eating junkfood and doing silly rituals. I don't think BFG has any rituals but i know we like to go around in a circle and give a little spiel about what's going on in our lives, yaknow.

Aww and now this movie is on tv and I'm watching it and it's just made me feel all happy and miss my friends. Me in a non misanthropist mood is a very very rare and often momentary so I thought I should document it. I can be happy, see!

Hehe, sisterhood versus Bfg. We win

SUMMER TWO

Year 12 put a big stop to most of my reading and most of my time had to be shifted to essays and study guides (HA, i wrote minimal essays and never purchases a study guide, but you know what I mean), so now that year 12 is oh-oh-oh-over I can begin reading all the books that I have saved. Currently, I'm re-reading Pride and Prejudice, just because it is an amazing story/book/movie/bbc-series and because the first time I read Austen's novel I didn't quite get into her lingo. I found it very heavy and convoluted, as most classic english literature can be, but now it is as if I have awoken from this boring haze that I was in and I can read her novels as easily as reading something in an email. I love the thought and the richness in Austen's words and in the ways she describes things. Perhaps it was my young, silly mind too lazy to divulge what Austen was trying to say, but now her never ending sentences just enthrall me even more.

My summer reading list:

I also hope to watch the movie. Mmm James Franco.

trainspotting

Which I actually stole from Nam so I should really read it asap and give it back to him, he probably misses it alot since it's only like his most favourite book of a all time.

Emma
I ended up studying this in year 11 so that really put me off reading the book which I already owned, but it's been over a year so I think I'll be able to finish reading it by now.

Which I actually bought as apart of a boxset from Borders (the boxset includes other travel novels from countries like India and Italy) so perhaps I should read all of those too.

type=text
I should finish reading this too as I borrowed it off Claudia aaaaaaaages ago and should really really give it back. I read half of it and then watched the movie, but I still liked it.

Okay, so going through these I have come to realize that for this summer reading list I am not going to read, I am going to finish. Because I do this thing where I only start books and hardly ever finish them. I don't know why, it's just what I do.

LAST CHRISTMAS

was two days ago.

Haha

Unfortunately I don't really have many festive photos from the Christmas day which involved a massive feast with family and family friends, but i do have pictures from this entire Christmas season. The Christmas season as a whole was a lot more fun and festive than the actual Christmas day. Maybe because I was sick on Christmas day and spent the best part of the day time cleaning and cooking, but hey I still got a macbookpro from Santa so I guess I really shouldn't complain. I haven't quite figured out how to resize pictures on the mac, so this blog post was saved and perfected on my old computer. Macs may be beautiful but I am so used to thing's old school.
